Ryan Giggs believes his decision to retire from international football with Wales will benefit Manchester United.
Giggs, 33, will call time on his playing career with Wales after clocking up his 64th appearance in a red shirt in Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Czech Republic IN cARDIFF
"I feel it's a good time to retire. It was a really difficult decision for me. I've loved playing for my country, I've loved captaining my country," Giggs told Sky Sports News.
The winger admits his form recently has tailed off but he can now devote all his energies to club matters at Old Trafford.
"I think it [retiring from international football] helps," said Giggs.
"I get breaks in the season, it'll help Man United because I'm playing less football.
"I don't feel I've been performing as well as I could have. I think all parties will benefit from this.
"Hopefully I'm fresher and I can enjoy the last one or two years of my career."
